As your company takes off and more people are employed joining your business. It is essential to create incentive that goes past a pay check. Your company's culture is highly important too. By creating uniform apparel regardless of race, culture, or wealth. People will glorify with the idea of custom t-shirts. Much like a jersey in a sport, a custom piece of clothing allows you and your employees to identify with the brand of the company.

When it comes down to it barriers are broken down and brings in teams together on the logo of your brand.  From sports teams, to plumbers, to accountants, any company has to carry that aesthetic, and by creating a sort of custom apparel that aesthetic can be shared throughout the business.

Whether it's an explosion of neon color or minimal professional take, YOU as the consumer can utilize your vision, and have the opportunity to bring in an outstanding culture within your community of workers.

We believe in just that: Unite your employees, Watch your company flourish.

Spot Color Printing:

This is the most common form of printing, spot color printing uses a full-tone of color to create an image. Each color in the image is printed separately on its own screen, which in turn effects the cost.

The result:
  • Vibrant, High quality prints
  • Can be printed on any color garment
  • The price depending on the number of colors printed
  • Commonly used for printing text as well as graphic designs and logos.

4-Color Process CMYK Printing:

4 Color process is used when printing a full color image or photograph that involves many colors and many gradients. The 4-Color process uses the basic colors Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black to create the image, like an inkjet printer.

  • colors are more muted, lighter colors
  • Prints the best on light colored garments, but can be printed on dark colored garments as well.
Half-Tone Printing:

Frequently used for when creating the illusion that there are more colors being used when actually there is less ink, to create a gradient type of look.
  • colors are more muted with lighter tones
  • Can be printed on any color garment
  • Used for creating value, and gradients within a design or logo.

Screen Printing: The Process

When undergoing the process of screen printing there are various steps within the process that occur, some would be surprised about how much work actually go into the process!

A screen is made from mesh  that's stressed over the frame. You then have to create a  stencil  which is formed by blocking off parts of the screen in the reverse image of the design, this being  the open spaces where the ink will appear on the substrate.

Before the actually printing begins, the frame and screen must undergo the pre-press process. This is when the emulsion is scooped across the mesh, and the exposure unit is then burned away getting rid of unnecessary emulsion behind to leave a clean area in the mesh which is reflected from the design.

The surface that will be eventually printed on is called the pallet and is coat with a material called "pallet tape" This serves to protect the screen for any unwanted ink that would leak through and potentially stain onto the substrate. After the screen and frame are lined with tape.

The last process is to pre-press which is to block out any unwanted pin holes in the emulsion. Any holes left in the emulsion will warrant unwanted ink to continue through and leave marks. To block out these holes, one commonly uses tape or block out pens.

The screen is now ready to begin the printing process. It is set atop a substrate and ink is placed on top of the screen. A floodbar is used to push the ink through the holes in the mesh. The person in charge then lifts the screen to prevent any contact with the substrate and then uses a slight amount of pressure which pulls  the fill bar to the front of the screen. He then uses a squeegee to move the mesh down to the substrate and then pushes it to the rear of the screen. As the squeegee moves toward the rear of the screen the tension of the mesh pulls itself up and away from the substrate leaving ink upon the surface. Once finished The material being printed on is put into a drier to cool.

Screen Printing is art within itself, and patience and time is exactly what we put into every garment we make.

T Shirt Printing: Quality

Screen printing is the most versatile of all printing processes. It can be used on a spectrum of different materials. The advantage of screenprinting over other print processes is that a greater thickness of the ink can be applied onto a garment than any other possible printing techniques. This would allow for unique effects that wouldn't be possible through other means of print. Also, because of the simplicity of the application process there is a wider range of inks that are at our disposal.

That being said you the customer are left with none other than quality that will last you for ages. Don't forget vibrant colors to match. At Royal Screen Printing we pride ourselves on our unprecedented technicality, and observation through each, and every garment that is pressed.

Place your faith in us next time you decide to order custom clothing and apparel!

Royal Screen Printing Tip of the Day #2:

When ordering shirts the cheapest route is to buy light colored clothing. When screen printing, an extra layer of white goes underneath a design on darker colored garments which allows the colors to show. Without this extra under base the ink will not show up as well on darker colored clothing. The more colors in your design the more costly it will be, This under base will add one more color to your design.

You can avoid using an under base by choosing some of the following options, this way you'll be able to access the most cost efficient route. Try shirts like:

white

ash gray

sand

light blue

yellow haze

light pink
